This Sunday sucked. The sun didn’t shine, my head hurt and my nail art tutorial failed. There, I said it. I’m usually not the kind of person who complains but this day has been just, blaah. I did manage to do almost everything on my to do list but no, still not liking this day. A part of the reason is that I’m a bit sick which to me is really rare. I can feel how the fever comes and goes and it’s hard to say if it’s just for a day or two. I usually manage to fight these things off so I’m hoping for the best for tomorrow. Persistence is the key for getting back to normal.
But, so that this post wouldn’t be too negative, there’s a new place in Helsinki that you all need to know about! :) Relove is a new second hand shop combined with a cafeteria, how cool is that? I was at the opening party a few weeks back and I completely fell in love with the concept. Usually second hand shops tend to be a bit more, well, all over the place. I don’t know how many of you have had items at a self-service flea market, but it is almost guaranteed that someone will steal an item or two from you. This place on the other hand seems to be a far safer option. I liked how Relove gives the opportunity to sell clothes, shoes, jewellery and more. Every seller has it’s own wardrobe section which makes the entire space look like a whole.
Relove also has a Pop Up corner where different brands have an opportunity to sell items from different categories. AND! Did I already tell you that the cafeteria sells only organic delicacies and raw cakes? I rest my case. Also, I have to mention that the quality of the items sold at Relove is really good. I actually already bought a few clothing items, I’ll show them to you later :)
If you want to read more about Relove, head over to their site from here.
Have an amazing week loves! <3
This month has definitely been a good month on the cake section. I’m sure that by the end of the year I’ll have at least 15 places that serve delicious cakes. Of course I’ll tell you all about them. While I was at Turku, I saw this beautiful little cafeteria that had a big sign that said “Cake”, needless to say that was all the convincing that I needed. We had 20 minutes until we had to leave to the train station and decided to have a cup of coffee and a piece of cake at Gaggui. Well I was the only one eating cake since my friends were too full after our brunch. Amateurs. The cafeteria is located close to the train station on the street which goes right to the centre of Turku, convenient huh?
To the important part. The service was really polite and I enjoyed their casual vibe. The cafeteria was full and a bit tiny, but I do think that smaller cafeterias tend to have a better vibe to them. Feels like you are at home and not in a big chain cafeteria. The one thing that I also liked is the fact that there were multiple waiters even though the cafeteria is small. I’m not entirely sure if that’s because they also do catering in the back but still, I think it was a nice thing.
And then the cakes, I would have loved to see a few more options. It is a cake cafeteria after all but that didn’t stop me. I choose a raspberry cheesecake which was really creamy and refreshing even though I was quite full. I have to admit that I couldn’t enjoy it fully as I had 5 minutes to eat it, hah. But I still liked it! This is the kind of place where you should definitely go if you are in Turku, I see it as a sight where you get cake. Cool.
Where: Humalistonkatu 15a 20100 Turku
Price range on cakes: 4€-6€
Serve: Cakes, sandwiches, breakfast, coffee, tea
Something special: They do catering
I was already under my blanket when I remembered this quote that I saw earlier today. I stood up and opened my computer. I haven’t really written an motivational post for a while and I’ve been thinking why that is. Approximately a year ago motivational posts were the only ones that I wanted to do and I’ve come to realise that it may have possible been because of I needed it myself, a lot. I’ve always got inspired and motivated by telling you how to overcome your obstacles and how you can achieve anything in this world. I guess while I’ve been doing that I’ve actually proven the same message to myself over and over again without knowing that I’ve really needed it.
Last summer I hit the jackpot. I got my dream internship and I fulfilled my goal for the year 2015 outside of school things. Then I landed my dream job from the same place right before the year ended. I had a goal and I accomplished it. The drive was constant and the vision clear. Now I’m still doing what I love and during this year I’ve fulfilled another goal. Which is this.
My goal regarding my blog is to
