Breakfast road trip Ξ Turku

Okay so before you get angry with me for getting hungry while looking at these pictures, imagine how I felt like editing these. For over an hour.

Now that we got that cleared up, look at all the food!! During our visit to Turku we spent the trips best two hours at this lovely place called Cafe Aula.  And yes you read that right, my best moment was when I was eating delicious food while the sun was shining.

I wasn’t that familiar with Turku’s breakfast places so I googled “Turku aamupala”(I know, genius), meaning Turku and breakfast, and Voilá! I found a blog post that praised this place to the moon and back and since I  believe almost everything my fellow colleagues say, we packed our bags and started our journey. And yes, I’m calling it a journey because we got lost (because of me) a few times and a 10 minute trip turned out to be 45, heh. But hey, we did get to see another side of the city so in my books everything went just as it was supposed to.

Aula Cafe has this thing called Jazz Brunch which is a brilliant concept as the cafe is attached to Museum of History and Contemporary Art. Normally I’d have gone for a museum tour but we didn’t have that much time. Anyways, the service was polite, the food was delicious and there was a dj playing relaxing jazz music old school style. On top of this the venue was beautiful and next to the river. Can it get better? Yes. The place was packed but the waiters snapped their fingers and there we were, sitting on a table next to an art piece. Really cool.

It goes without saying that I definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting or living in Turku. It was a pleasure.

Kahvilalla on konsepti nimeltä Jazzbrunssi, minkä ideana on nauttia hyvästä aamupalasta samalla kun oma dj soittaa rentoa jazzia vanhan ajan malliin eli levyillä. Suosittelen!

Jazzbrunssi 18€, la klo 11-15, Aula Cafe, Turku.

Psst! Myös tulevissa brunssi ehdotuksissa tulee olemaan suomenkielinen teksti lisänä.

Trip to Turku

Saraphina.fi // Turku

The sun is shining(and I’m full with cake). The past 24 hours have been perfect!

We headed to Turku with my work colleagues to see yesterday’s The Voice of Finland’s live broadcast. I can’t remember when was the last time that I clapped so much. It’s actually really funny how numbed our hands were after two hours, hah.

The performers were amazing! There’s something really magical in live performances, you can almost feel the energy. We were sitting quite close to the stage which was great as we got to see everything and everyone. A performer called Suvi had this beautiful two piece sparkly dark blue/black combo and I totally fell in love with it! If someone knows where it’s from, tell me! Oh and if I need to name a favourite, Suvi is definitely on top of the list.

Also, I’m at the same time proud and embarrassed to admit that our “let’s go to party -mood” stop the second we got to the hotel a few minutes before midnight. But you know what, I’m actually really happy that we got a good night’s sleep because we got to enjoy the rest of the time we had in Turku. We had a lovely brunch and walked around the city while the sun was shining. To me that is perfection.

Talk to you soon!
